About
At TIDETIVITY, we're driven by more than trends. Our creativity comes from a deeper place — one that swells into tidal waves of energy we can't help but chase.
We don't boast diversity, because it's naturally built into who we are. Proudly Latinx and woman-owned, we're on a mission to build a more inclusive industry, one project at a time — empowering filmmakers, creative technologists and multi-hyphenates, whether emerging or established, to thrive.
Every project we take on is shaped by a hand-picked bench of directors, DPs, editors and creative technologists — collaborators chosen for what each story needs, not pulled from a fixed roster. That's how we keep the work as varied as the stories we're telling.
We’re on a mission to do things differently, with people at the center of it all.

HOW WE WORK
CONCEPT & DEVELOPMENT - We shape ideas into fully-formed creative before a single day is booked — treatments, mood boards, casting direction, and (for our original slate) development and financing. Commercial or original, the work starts with intention.
Pre-Production - Budgeting, scheduling, crew, locations, permitting — handled with the same rigor whether we're building a brand campaign or a documentary shoot across three continents.
Production - On set, we lead with calm and creative fluency, protecting the vision while staying on time and on budget. Our crews reflect the stories we tell.
Post-Production & Delivery - We stay hands-on through edit, color, sound, and final delivery, making sure what ships matches what we set out to make.
MEET THE FOUNDER
Melissa Daniels founded Tidetivity Studios in 2023, building on 15 years of producing commercial and original content - including a run leading GoPro's Branded Content division and a start in broadcast journalism that shaped her instinct for story.
Under Tidetivity, that instinct runs in two directions at once: commercial work for brands like 3M, Apple, Yahoo!, Airbnb, Verizon and Nike, and a slate of original documentaries - including NORITA (dir. Jayson McNamara & Andrea Tortonese), which Melissa produced and secured distribution across Latin America via Amazon, following 20+ festival selections and wins including several Best Documentary Feature awards and a Jury Nominee at the Austin FIlm Festival. Also in the pipeline: MONTAÑO, about six-time Olympic athlete Alysia Montaño, and WOMXN WALK about the now shuttered women’s prison in Dublin, CA.
Melissa is also a proud mentor with ManifestWorks - a partnership that shows up not just in Tidetivity's values, but in who ends up on its crews.

Tidetivity Studios partners with several organizations to bring our productions to life. We believe it’s our responsibility to foster equity as we continue to develop the film industry and this starts with our hiring practices.
FREE THE WORK - Our partnership with Free The Work spans sponsorship and promotion of their platform of underrepresented creatives. Majority of our directors are a part of the Free The Work community, and we consistently seek out the next generation of voices in entertainment with their help.
MANIFEST WORKS - This non-profit organization trains up the next industry cohorts of production assistants, tapping into communities plagued by incarceration, foster care and houselessness.
